Poetry is written
From a collective consciousness
What is mine is yours
What is yours is mine
It is offered
As an invitation to feel
Question
Be with
What is coming up for you
The reader
The receiver
How does it make you feel
Does it make you feel
How does your body respond
What does your spirit crave
Instead
We often project
Judge
Make conclusions
Upon the writer
What a poor soul
What a tough time
Glad it isn’t me
Could never be me
Separating ourselves from
Emotion
Pain
Fear
Shame
Bring us together in
Happiness
Joy
Truth
Evoked by
A few simple words
Poetry is written
From a collective consciousness
What is mine is yours
What is yours is mine
They are soliloquies
Whispered from the soul
Often times in an instance
Responding to a present moment
Reminiscent of the past
Reaching toward tomorrow
Reflecting upon an interaction
Between two people
Two parts of our own selves
Wanting to be seen
Heard and accepted
Wanting to be expressed
Released
Experienced
Desiring growth
Expression
Rebirth
Only to be found
Within the connection
Between
He who writes
She who reads
They who share a moment
Of collective consciousness
What is mine is yours
What is yours is mine
Together we heal
Through poetry
