At the end of last year I put a request out on FB looking for women to interview.
I never said what the interview was about and regardless, many women volunteered
their time and…their stories.

Stories??? How is that, you ask…when, after all, an interview usually consists
of Q & A with the Q’er (that would have been me) “LOOKING” for a specific result
by asking specific Q’s…right?

Well, that was the intention and I quickly threw it out the window when the first
interview started with a deep heavy…’Hi”. Because what I discovered was…
the intention that I “thought” I had really wasn’t what was being asked of me or
the other person at all. What was being “asked” for was…CONNECTION.

So, when I simply allowed myself to follow “her” lead…I found that…more
important then answering a bunch of questions and getting a result…was the
chance for me to hold the space for another person to feel seen, heard and accepted.
And what she wanted to share with me from that place was “her” story…who she is,
where she is from, what she feels, what she is afraid of, what she wants, her deepest
desires, her darkest secrets and more.

To say that our “connection” was profound, enlightening, uplifting, and more…
well those are simple understatements to what I experienced and what began to unfold
for me. I soon found that I was HER…each and everyone of the women I connected with.

I found so many similarities, regardless of where she was from, how she was raised,
what her religious beliefs were, etc…we are the same in so many ways.

And I LOVED it!

I found that, as women (and the same may be true for men) we deeply long for connection.
We long to be a part of something bigger then ourselves. We long to be validated.
We desire vulnerability and are grateful when someone else shows us the way.
We need permission to be OK….we want deeper friendships and more fun.
We are tired of all the crap…pretending to be who we are not, feeling like we
are broken and there is something about us that can never be fixed (that’s a big load of bullshit). We feel the calling from our hearts for things to change. And we are finally starting to wake up to the truth that it is not that we have to change into someone or something that we are not. We are needing to change back into the truth of who we are…
by letting go of the bullshit and CONNECTING.

It is time….LADIES (and gentlemen if you like)…to start CONNECTING with one another
more. To reach out and offer a hand. Call, talk, share the truth about how you are feeling, what you want and what you are afraid to try.

It is time to start living more authentically…and not giving a shit what someone else
thinks about it. Just show them how it is done by…taking a chance to CONNECT.

Go for a walk with someone new or old, offer a cooking class at your house
(you know who you are), Share something on your FB page about you that people might
not know (like… my tits look like shit since having kids…thank god for good bras!)
You know what I’m saying…just do it. Just have fun. Screw what anyone has to think
of you and just BE…YOU!

So….WHO/HOW ARE YOU? Let us all know…show us a side we don’t know.

Let ME find ME in YOU!

That is the greatest gift we can give one another…the gift of who we are…what an incredible mirror and chance for you to wake something up in someone else.
